DOLLS For more than half a century a tiny shop on the left bank, M. Renard (Mr. Fox) specialized in dolls from the 18th and 19th centuries. The shop sadly closed in the late ‘70’s, Many of it’s dolls went to the collection of the Museum of Design at the Louvre.

 

PUPPETS These remarkable puppets are the work of puppeteer, artist, musician WINSTON TONG. Tong began his performing career in the early 70’s on the street in San Francisco with spontaneous puppet shows at the Cannery. His puppet shows grew into theater performances which included film and projection. Bound Feet his most renown work of the ‘70s played at the Eureka Theater and in New York off-Broadway, winning him numerous awards. He was commissioned to make the masks for the NYC Opera’s production of Korngold’s Die Tote Stadt. His later career included lead singer in the rock group Tuxedo Moon.
